Any recommendation on what gaming mouse to get?

I am really interested in the Logitech gaming mice, but they are all for windows. Unfortunately, I prefer to do most of my gaming on mac. I've actually been waiting since several months hoping logitech will develop mac drivers but doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon. Anyone know what disadvantages I will have using 1 of those mouse without mac support? OR should I just bootcamp to XP? I already bootcamp for Half Life 2, Oblivion, and will be bootcamping for Battlefield 2142, Crysis.

Get USBOverdrive and use whatever mouse you want.

I HIGHLY recommend Razer mice.

I couldn't find any reviews of people using it with OS X, but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. At the worst you might have some problems getting a couple side buttons to work. Overdrive works with every feature of my Diamondback.

i'm debating between DeathAdder and Copperhead

DeathAdder:
1800dpi infrared sensor, right hand design

Copperhead:
2000dpi laser sensor, gaming profiles

Not sure about performance of infrared vs laser sensor?
I would like to have different dpi settings for FPS and MMORPG. Anyone know if dpi can be changed easily (maybe using the side buttons) like with Logitech gaming mice?

If I remember correctly (my friend has a Copperhead), you can change the DPI on the bottom of the mouse, but I wouldn't swear that would work on a Mac. You can change it in Overdrive, but you would want to make sure it works right on a Mac.

The "Gaming Profiles" thing is another area where you might run into problems since that could be a feature of the mouse's Windows-only driver software.

I user Steermouse and a Bluetooth Logitech MX1000, works pretty well in OS X and in XP. Though I don't yet own any games in OS X, I DO use it when booted into XP.

Steermouse will work with the G5 and G7 mice, but the DPI switching won't work in OS X. I'm not sure, but I don't believe DPI switching will work with USB Overdrive also.

I picked Bluetooth simply so I wouldn't have to carry around a receiver for a wireless mouse.

If you are a hardcore gamer I'd suggest the razer mice. They just are the best out there in my opinion. While your at it may I suggest trying out Steermouse and USB overdrive.

Ditto. I just bought a Razer "DeathAdder". It has a 'soft' finish, and is really comfortable. I like it.

Another vote for the DeathAdder. A good mix of comfort and performance.
