Which is the right chip to upgrade to to go octo. Is it the clovertown or the harpertown? Both are 1333 FSB but from what I could find searching the web, its clovertown. But the harpertown is a bit cheaper so want to make sure before I do this. tnks

Clovertown is known to work, Harpertown may or may not work (is possible per Intel's docs, but there are a lot of things Apple could have done to make it not work, intentionally or otherwise).

Harpertowns are available in both 1333 ( 54x0 ) and 1600 ( 54x2 ) FSB variants, but have not been shown to be compatible with the older Mac Pro's. any of the 53xx clovertowns will work in both older MP's
