It's like she can't appear sans Dvorak. It's starting to creep me out.

I forget whether this was before the show or not, but last time Leo gave Jolie a cell phone because she doesn't have one (think about that for a second). When he asked her about it, the exchange went like this:

"Did you like the phone?"
"Yeah, I brought it back for you. The battery ran out."

Remove the fetching exterior and the Texas drawl. Read it in an indignant buzzsaw voice. That's Dvorak.

Apple’s press conference showed a brand unraveling | VentureBeat

She also wrote this, which might be the dumbest article about apple we'll see all year.

Did he not give her the charger?

And she sounds like a Ditz. That isn't Dvorak. One is clueless. The other is a troll.

Also, what's up with the priest?

You're not reading it in the voice. That's a total "I can't be bothered to give a ****" Dvorak troll.

As for the priest, the short story is he's Leo's new hire to do an enterprise show.

The long story is he was in the first batch of Tech News Today's end of year "we interview the viewers" shows. They've since invited him back as a guest a few times, he's got oratory chops from his day job, and the chat room likes him. AFAICT, he's part of the Jesuits' IT department, so enterprise stuff is also his day job.

I don't think that's odd. Technology fetishism is usually a secular kind of thing.

I kept on trying to read the logo on his hoodie. I was disappointed when I saw it said "The Jesuits" instead of "Aperture Laboratories".

I'm just now watching this.

Why even bring up the Pebble smart watches if you have no idea about what they even do?

They were talking like all it was was a watch with an e-ink screen.

Then Jolie, who I'm really growing to dislike, starts in with her criticisms based on wrong information... it's annoying. The pebble watches were one of the bigger tech stories of the week and no one on the panel knew a thing about them? No one on the chat room or working behind the scenes could tell them more information or correct their complete misinformation?

It's very amateurish.

And back to Jolie, if you hate computers and don't own a cell phone... why are you a tech journalist and why are you on a show about technology?

I hate to be a "that guy" and be all sexist, but screw it, I'll say it...

If Jolie O'Dell weighed 220 lbs and had a lazy eye and a crooked nose... she would not be working in the tech journalism field.

Isn't it funny how all of the men on TWIT are goofy looking dorks and all of the women are hot little 20 somethings?

The difference between most of the cute 20 something women on the show and Jolie O'Dell, is that they are usually smart, informed and charismatic to along with their good looks.

Jolie really is just Dvorak Junior. It is kind of scary.

And in mildly interesting TWiT news, c|net finally struck back. Molly Wood poached Leo's chief producer.

TWiT has three ex-c|net employees, and would have had Wood too if she hadn't gotten an 11th hour counter-offer.

Not a bad show. Leo's cranky about something, and I think that can help. He takes shots at Louderback and Swish.

Lots of Inside Baseball stuff about Discovery buying Revision3, which shouldn't surprise you is the kind of stuff I like.

Maybe that's what's making him cranky.

Eileen Rivera.

She produced and ran the board for TWiT, MBW, ang TWiG. Yesterday was her last TWiT, but she's going to do one more MBW.

It's an amicable split though. She's still going to host their Android podcast.

I think it's probably good to get things a little shaken-up.

Former LAN Party host Glenn has been hired to run their Facebook page. That's nice. I like Glenn, and was worried the Cards Against Humanity incident endagered his future there.

?

Dan's not going anywhere. I mean, he won't be on the Talk Show, obviously, since it's a 2 man show and the main guy left, but the other shows are still going on.

It's just so weird. You always assume that these guys are good friends, but I supposed they are not. It's a shame they had to part on such bad terms. The whole thing is just so weird with both of them remaining completely silence.

The entire show was centered around 2 guys overanalyzing everything, talking about anything and everything, including the show, and making the show... and now it ends abruptly and there is no discussion as to what happened.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Yeah, I was blindsided by the Talk Show split. Just happened to check DF and saw Gruber's post about the new Talk Show episode and was pretty confused for a moment. Very weird. I won't go so far as to say the two were best buddies or anything (there were many times where it seemed obvious that Dan was merely enduring Gruber's rant) but I did think they had a decent chemistry. I haven't yet listened to the new Talk Show episode, so I have no idea what Gruber-as-host is going to be like.

Pity, 'cause at the end of the last episode, they mentioned the possibility of doing a special ep where they analyze a Hitchcock or Kubrick movie, in the same way they did a special ep on Goodfellas.

Okay. I misunderstood the Verge article.

It said "we'll miss Dan on that podcast", which I is poorly worded IMO.

I assume this changed at some point, but when I used to listen it was mentioned a few times they had never met in person.

Of course I was sad there was no Becky, but it was a really good show. You had three iconoclasts, but their respective shticks didn't overlap, so they weren't trying to post-up one another the whole time.

I thought Chad did well. Almost none of the original lineup panned out, which I'm sure had to have shaken him up.
