Hi all,

I have a unibody Macbook Pro, and I would like to use two 24" displays with it. (With the lid closed, not using the built in display).

What are my options? I have found these two USB -> DVI adapters, but I haven't been able to find any real reviews on them, so I'm not sure how well they would work:

NewerTech USB to HD Display Adapter (reso... (NWTVIDU2DVIA) at OWC

Gefen, LLC - USB to DVI HD

Thanks!

It seems that the NewerTech adapter doesn't support display resolutions greater than 1920x1280 (some 24" monitors are 1920x1200). The Gefen adapter does. Just something to keep in mind.

FYI, I got the NewerTech USB -> DVI adapter, and it works great in Windows 7 on my MBP. (Haven't tried it in OS X yet).

There is also an ExpressCard option for those with suitably expandable MacBook Pros, just for the record (and the forum search):

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
