ehh kinda sorta, i was right under 10k away and did a few runs of ONI with the target locater to finish off (almost complete) commendations to silver/gold status which gave it to me. Although not usually my style, after gaining 56k legit i was fed up with grade 3, i'm not proud but i'm glad to be past that absolutely ludicrous 66k level.

Yeah, I'd like to have too, seeing as you were way behind me and Bogues this weekend, but I don't have the time, and even if I did, I don't think I have the will. With this game.

That said, I'm struggling to figure out how the hell you got something like 20,000 cR in a little over an hour last night. I played like 2 1/2 hrs last night and got around 30k (which is kinda crazy considering that's half the daily cap. Most in a night for me ever)

In related news, I tried out the Objective playlist last night (best way to get assists, was what I heard). I'd say it was really fun, but I got grouped with a pretty good team. Ran off a ton of victories, most of which i didn't contribute to directly. The exception is my old favorite I forgot about. I'm terrible at objective games, but I do still love my Crazy King.

You, me, Bogues and Crosbie seem to be around the average (Crosbie might be about to break away to above average here). A week ago I pointed out everyone was a warrant officer. This week its definitely transitioning to Captain.

Got them all. Got the 10,000 score in one of my first 3 games. Got in to a Sniperfight game, killed a grunt with a Fuel Rod, took the Fuel Rod with infinite ammo and killed everything in sight while the other guys used their sniper rifles to pick off enemies one at a time. LOL

Map Update

I revised the Iron Curtain to v1.6b. Basically, the path to the dedicated Artillery Wraith was still glitched (added safe zone), added a kill warning if you take Falcons and Banshees too high, and revised flag spawns for non-symmetrical games (still untested).

Bogues, if you have time at work, I could use some suggestions for map/gametype combos for tonight.

So far we have my map, which is good for multiple games of TS, CTF, Assault, Territories, and Stockpile. I also have Master Chief's Raceway for Race.

I haven't checked but if some people could help me check for Rocket Race checkpoints on other maps I'd appreciate it.

I think Countdown might be the go to map for changing things up tonight.

It's not impossible. I could have also done it on Beachhead in Rocketfight. I had over 9,000 with all the wraiths and decided to give the other guy who was close to 10,000 a chance.

Good times last night, though the turn-out was mildly disappointing. I'll be posting pics when I can, though bungie's policy of not automatically uploading them to their site will be sure to make that as painful as possible.


In more important news (to me) The Iron Curtain has some serious balancing issues with regards to one Warthog Gauss.

sek, you mentioned the laser being woefully absent, but I traced the balancing of the original Sandtrap Gauss to a different weapon: The Missile Pod.
Arguably, the Missile Pod is a much easier anti-vehicle weapon to use than either the laser or the rockets (whose lock-on seems to saved solely for aircraft). This probably wouldn't be the cure-all for the imbalance (Sandtrap also had a lot of cover for traversing the map) but in absence of the weapon I think the only solution available is to remove the Gauss Hogs altogether. *single tear*

Well, that's a bit of a lie. Since I love those things (They need turrets with power somewhere between the gauss and the hilariously weak Shade Turrets) I've deiced they need a new less dominant home.

I've removed the Artillery Wraith. Trying to bomb the tank and gauss hog when they were pinning my team at the base last night was just too complex and slow. Now, I could put the Gauss Hog there instead, but with the platform's view, spawnkilling either base would've been a simple task for our more cyborg-like friends, let alone pegging any vehicle leaving those bases.

Instead, I've placed the Rocket 'Hog there, which sprays a 6-rocket burst. These are both less pin-point and much slower (Damage will need to be tested). The Gauss Hog? I've created a sister platform on the other end of the Fortress, the end which is nestled in the rocks. This limits the view of the Gauss Hog, but not so much as to cripple it – it's view will afford the gunner the ability to snipe man cannoners out of the air, and still decimate vehicles on the open side of the map. The bases, however, are thankfully obscured from it's view.


This leaves the matter of what to replace the Gauss Hogs with within the Fortress. Wraiths seem redundant, as they're mini-tanks. Suggestions?

What about switching the regular hogs with the Ghosts at the center base?

The end bases could have the covenant thingy, ghost and mongoose so racing to the center would still be worthwhile to get a regular hog, but it wouldn't extremely unbalance things.

Fun night though. I think CTF works really well in Iron Curtain and I'd love to see 6v6 and up on that scenario. Ninjaball was also awesome.

I'm not going to lie, Custom game night kind of save Reach from the brink of hatred from me. I kinda groaned in my head when Kcros wanted to go into matchmaking, I find playing with and against you guys to be way more fun.
