Hey,

Is it possible to connect 2 monitors to a Macbook Pro? I only see one monitor connection jack in the computer, but maybe with a signal splitter and some drivers it would work?

Thanks for any help on this subject.

Yet another area where Apple lags behind other pro-class machines. My Dell at work drives 2 monitors using the docking-station that it came with.

For the MBP, you'll need to get something like this:

Is there anything less expensive than that?

Dual VGA (CRTs, cheap LCDs) or dual DVI (most LCDs)?

Works fabulously for me. It just requires having an old mac of some type lying around to drive the second screen.

Of course, it's just a slick VNC implementation.

If you're connected directly through Gigabit I can tell you from my own experience that screen sharing can be very fast. I wouldn't use it for games or streaming video, but for regular office work it's fine.

FWIW
My new Samsung monitors can connect via USB cable to my PC and then be daisychained together. (to a max of 6)
I have not tried this with my Mac yet but will give it a go.

There is a note about it here -

Please do pcryan5, that sounds like a great solution. Samsung displays have always been pretty good too.

Edit: the max video rate seems a bit unclear to me. How has your experience of using it been?
