recently i got a mac pro at work and it seems like corporate got their hands on the mac first and crippled the graphics card. i notice that all screen savers are very choppy (worse than any g3 ive seen) and when i got my second display to use at work that the detect displays button is missing. this isn't the computer seeing how we have another computer in the office ordered a month before mine and it had the same issue but our g5's are totally fine and have everything dandy. i'm thinking it has something to do with it being an intel and corporate not taking that into consideration when uploading the software on this machine, real weird.

can somebody fix the typo in the title?

All of the Mac Pro's i've setup have been fine on the screen saver. If the detect button is missing I would suggest a archive/install and then all the updates.

There was a Graphic update for Leopard last month, has it had that?

Apple - Downloads - Application Updates - Leopard Graphics Update 1.0

Which card hare you got?

just spoke to corporate and it turns out they have not done anything to keep the gpu crippled for any reasons.

the unit i have has an ATI Radeon HD 2600

two more systems seem to be affected with the same issues in our other locations, i suggested an archive and install as well...but it seems they have more info to suggest that it is indeed the graphics card with the issue and not the install .

i'll post again once things are cleared up.
