The news right now is that the cruise missle attack this evening was targeting the Iraqi leadership.

Wouldn't it be great if Sadam was now dead?

A dead Saddam from a cruise missle sounds pretty good right now. That would mean the war would be over almost before it started.

I believe he was talking about the Iraqi leadership, meaning people like Saddam and his two psycho sons. I didn't see anyone rejoice over the death of innocent women and children. If you expect me to shed a tear for Saddam, you'll be waiting a while. And I didn't hear my "moron President" say that Iraqi's were evil, actually, he has said quite the opposit. And I don't think anyone need George Bush to tell us Saddam is a bad guy. It's a pretty well known fact.

I agree, I'd love to see Saddam already dead. The quicker this conflict ends, the better (obviously!). Still looks like they don't know if they got him or not. (8:10 PM PST)

If Saddam was the intended target and they actually got him, then this would be cause for great celebration. The war would be over in a matter of hours, with no civilian casualties at all, and the rebuilding could begin. Bush's dream scenario, because contrary to what InvisibleX says, no one wants there to be a war, or for innocents to die. Not even Bush.

However, I'd be shocked to find out that Saddam was anywhere within fifty miles of Baghdad when the missiles struck. Given his apparent diamond-buying spree over the past couple of days, I have my doubts that he's even in Iraq anymore, but far from the exile Bush wants, he's probably just biding his time, laying low until he feels it's safe to return.

CNN is saying the first attack was a "decapitation attack" aimed at Saddam himself. I wonder if it was successful. Presumably if it was,everyone will just go home and leave the newly-free Iraqis to enjoy their oil rich land.

AND if he does, I hope it is live from a location already programed into one of those cruise missles.

It is quite sad that so many people might have to die, on both sides just to get saddam. He is a monster, and I hope he is the only casualty.

It would be great if this war ended so quickly. I doubt that Bush would be so lucky. No One Saw this coming Not even Saddam. CIA had him in there sights, Bush Made the Call.
