My recently deceased mother introduced me to Mr. Winters at a very young age.
For those that know the sketch, the line "I didn't know who my leader was", was used frequently throughout my life.
RIP.

Jonathan was so inventive and positively hysterical, that sometimes he could just make a face and drive me into peals of laughter. His characters were extremely well rounded, and he could invent stuff on the fly so smoothly that it looked like it was thoroughly rehearsed. Robbin Williams idolized Jonathan, and I think you can see his impact on Robbin's work when you see some of Jonathan's late night TV stuff.
What a loss.

I saw him on David Steinbergs TV show along with Robin Williams and at 86 he was still sharp and told some really funny stories. I think he and Tim Conway are the best at getting a laugh out of you. He will be missed.

Oh man, Tim Conway. I was surfing through the channels the other night and happened across this PBS special on Carol Burnett, full of clips from her show. Watching Tim Conway destroy Harvey Korman is a thing of comedic beauty.

And you have to give credit to Robin for hiring someone who constantly upstaged him.

Winters could do really funny stuff while keeping a straight face, and go off on a tangent instantly. Conway could too, and his Siamese Elephant bit (they were joined at the trunks...) still makes me laugh.

I feel like I can't remember what I knew him from as a kid. Mork & Mindy and The Twilight Zone don't seem like they'd have had an impact on the younger me. What else did he do?
