It really doesn't impress me. It's the 1984 Apple promo with The Matrix and Aeon Flux.
Really original!
Natalie Portman though

uh...Its actually an adaptation of a 10 issue comic run by the same name that started in 1982 and was written by alan moore (of watchmen fame), with reflections on the political climate of the time in the UK and how he felt about it.

I know but the way it is made and released now so late it no longer says anything unless you're one of those bleeding heart liberal celebrities who think Blair and Bush are equal to Hitler and Islamists are fine running their own sh!t.
Never liked Guy Fawkes from the beginning

Have a pass to a pre screening on Wednesay night. I'll be sure to report back on it.
Looks like it could be cool, but I don't have ultra-high expectations.

I dig the poster - nice that they are finally coming up with something new for movie posters than the same old same old.
Of course, it looks like the designers were listening to Franz Ferdinand when they did the type.

LOL Indeed, he's so funny.
Anyway, I dig the STYLE of this movie. So far, the artwork is unique and beautiful!
I have high expectations.

Of course Alan Moore (who wrote the source material) hates it. Then again, he hates everything.

I just read all the comics last week, and was quite impressed. I can't wait to see the film.
Portman on SNL was quite funny. Her rap makes me laugh.

Something about it looks tacky. Maybe we have seen too many dark corridors and one hero fighting the system etc

Looks interesting but with dude in the mask it does make it look comic bookish. Not knowing more the storyline I hope its not over the top like some comic book adaptations. It has potential but I'll wait and see how people respond after seeing it, e.g., love/hate it.

Yea that’s the risk with the movies made from comic books because they have much higher standards than other new movies. But if the movie is a success then they'll make a sequel that does better than the first movie on opening week but ends up being worse than the second one cough cough Spiderman

I don't about being held to a higher standard but some of the adaptations are campy at best. Poorly done with a thin storyline at worst.

Phew... I`m glad I`m not the only one who thinks that. I mean, I would hate to lose the one person on this forum who openly hates me. What use is a web forum if not for pointless internet geek fudes.

The political climate in the UK is far more oppressive now than it was in 1982. It's idiots like this bloke who actually make it this way, as they're so busy chanting "Thatcher bad, Thatcher evil" that they can't see the oppression being perpetrated by the "left".
See http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=288543 for details about how valid films like this are in modern Britain.

Incorrect. Blair is a marxist asshole who does everything possible to oppress the British people. It's been said that "George Orwell intended 1984 as a warning. Blair is using it as an instruction manual".
