Can't open 'em that is. Running Outlook 2001 in Classic on OS 10.3.2. The attachments display as blank icons in the email, and as expected when they're double-clicked I receive the "Application associated with this attachement cannot be started" message. Of course dragging the attachment to the desktop and opening it there works fine.
There is no way to edit helper applications in Outlook settings. Assuming this had something to do with the old OS 9 File Exchange control panel, I copied both the panel and it's prefs file from a system that was successfully opening attachments directly fromOutlook. Still no luck. Suggestions? Thanks.
save the file on the desktop, if you know its a text file drag and drop it on appleworks or something. If you know its a picture file then drag and drop it on picture viewer. If it has a .exe, .pif, .dll then dont bother its a PC virus.
