Hmm.. i have seen a couple of color artifacts... wonder what else it does...

The PowerBook G4 Graphics Update 1.0 improves graphics stability for some 1.67-GHz PowerBook G4 computers.

The installer guides you through the steps to install the PowerBook G4 Graphics Update 1.0.

System Requirements
Installation of the PowerBook G4 Graphics Update requires Mac OS X 10.4.2.

I just stumbled across this one too. I find it odd that it is only for the 1.67GHz machines and not the latest 1.5GHz models.

I would really like to know what it actually does before I install it!

It's not for all 1.67GHz 15-inch PowerBooks too. I think this update will improve PowerBook with Dual-Link DVI.

I'm guessing it's for the 128 mb graphics card powerbooks.
g4/1.5 GHz 12 inch powerbook / 1.25 RAM / 80 gig / Superdrive / 10.5.6
g3/400 MHz Pismo / 640 RAM / 40 gig / Combo Drive / 10.3.9

It came up for my 1.5ghz so I installed it.

I think it's to fix the issue where when you hover on dock icons they don't show the labels.

Oh yeah, I should note that it had a thing for freezing sometimes too -- one day when I was doing a pro-mac speech in speech class, mine froze during an expose demonstration...

I sure hope they fixed that one

The update showed up for me as well with a new PB 15. I installed not really reading what model it was for. It installed, rebooted and I notice nothing. Perhaps it has no effect on the 15 or just did not install when it recognized the model.
