got a new powerbook (12"), and am ready to kill the wires.
waiting for airport express (itunes, printing), using my airport card now.
running on the battery.
syncing my palm with bluetooth, and...want a bluetooth mouse (probably the bt500...don't want to wait until september(!) for the macmice one).

outside of firewire (when i need to backup), and usb for my midi keyboard (when i need it).

this is an amazing time, and just felt like raving a bit.

airport express is gonna be amazing...

Seriously... I was actually thinking about posting a similar thread with a before and after picture of my setup. It's pretty cool to think about taking away three plugs (usb, ethernet, and audio) away in one fell swoop. I know I can't wait until 7/15 (my est. shipping date)

i agree.

things are getting better in the wireless department, and Air Express is a big step.

i hope, however, that the USB ports on these Airport devices will evolve to support more than just printers. i have several devices connected to my mac with a USB hub, so i cannot cut the USB cable yet. if i could share the USB hub over WiFi I'd be so happy. Bluetooth is too slow for synching when you have lots of data, and have to sync often.

also, if you could share a USB hard drive from a base station, that would permit a cheap NAS solution. granted, Airport Extreme is not very fast for data transfer, but i wouldn't care if it was just backing up my data when i'm asleep.
