Man forget that. No way the Enterprise D shields would just drop like that. And the Enterprise E could blow up the death star by itself.

That was 6.5 minutes too long.
The visuals were well done but the piecing together of the script and audio was horrible.

A bit too long, but a nice idea. The editing was pretty bad at times, which was a pity because this was supposed to be an experiment in editing!

My lord that just made it worse. Picard changed uniforms from the jumpsuit, the the normal one to the one with the gray and the jacket in the span of 3 sentences in one conversation!

They shoulda used the scene in First Contact, where the giant Cube was being attacked by a couple fleets of Federation ships.

I loved it! But yeah, against the Enterprise-E, the Death Star would seriously get PWNED!

Actually, I'm not so sure that the Soverign Class (Enterprise E) offers much of a fire power advantage over the Galaxy Class (Enterprise D). Aside from being outfitted with Quantum Torpedoes, I really can't think of anything.
All in all, torpedoes being equal, I'd take a Galaxy over a Soverign. More versatile design and a larger troop capacity.

Well, if you had stayed for the credits you'd 've noticed that it was accomplished with Adobe Premiere on Windows.
Someone should redo it in Final Cut.

Hmm it wouldn't be an easy win, but I'd put my republic credits on the Enterprise E over the Enterprise D. Although heavily upgraded since their initial launch, Galaxy class ships are more peaceful, exploration type vessels. Sovereign were made with the Borg and Dominion wars in mind, and is more of a combat vessel. Enterprise E has 16 type XII phaser banks capable of firing at every attack angle possible, as well as forward and aft torpedo bays capable of firing quantum torpedos. It has no families, fewer decks, is more maneuverable, and has stronger shields.
But the real question here is, the Defiant vs. Battlestar Galactica? I say the Defiant pretty easily

I'd give the upper hand to the Soverign over the Galaxy, admittedly. But not by much. As you said, it wouldn't be an easy win. With that in mind, I think the Galaxy is a better design. Both aesthetically and functionally. Nevermind the fact that it's much larger than the Soverign, which counts for something in and of itself.
Also keep in mind that the Galaxies cranked out immediately before and during the Dominion War were not equipped with the civilian amenities that the Enterprise D was. They were strictly business as well, and thus had more power to dedicate to defensive/offensive systems.
As for the BSG v Defiant? Oooh... That's tough.
Who's commanding the Defiant?

The BSG.

LOL true true. Worf was always looking for an excuse to ram something and die in battle.
Seriously though, I don't think the BSG would ever even be able to get a single hit on the Defiant. Even so, the Defiant's superior hull plating could probably withstand the blast better with no shields, and with shields would a nuke even be noticed?
The Defiant could simply dart in, fire an array, and dart out before the BSG could even aim a nuke.
A better match would be Enterprise NX-01 vs. BSG. Course, BSG would own NX-01 no problem.

BSG v Star Trek comparisons are still so new that I think it's hard to guage what would inflict what on who. But the tech in Trek does seem to be very much superior so you may have a point.
One comparison you can makefairly easily though is Babylon 5 v Trek. Even the ships of The Earth Alliance, one of the lesser advanced of the major powers in the series, could decimate pretty much any Federation ship.
None of that 'shields' bs. Just raw firepower and armor.

Hmm. Well, if the Death Star had a firing solution, it'd take out anything that Starfleet has. However, Babylon 5 would kick all their asses. They can form an entire strike fleet within a jump gate, jump out and fire, jump back in... repeat.
Now, if the Borg were in there. Hmm. They'd take over the Death Star in a matter of minutes and everyone would be screwed. Borg Sith? Whoa! Then the Borg could replicate mediclorines and the universe would be screwed.

Dude no way! A Sovereign would kick a Galaxy's butt! (assuming they needed to fight)
http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/u.../sovereign.htm
http://www.trekmania.net/the_fleet/u...eet/galaxy.htm
Though a defiant would also be nice (or prometheus) to fight the empire. That said there's a reason the E was a sovereign and not another Galaxy. It's cause the Sovereigns were freaking awesome! Quantum torps, I dono if they had ablative armour like the defiants, but those things were built for bear! I mean... assuming they were real.
That said I have no idea how the Enterprise E would do against the death star. I don't know if one hit from the death start would be enough to knock out the E. That said the thing was bloody fast and probably could have taken out the entire empire fleet in short order. Probably not even allowing it to get hit by the death start. I think a Defiant would have had a great chance it could have gotten quickly between all the empire's ships and blown the crap out of the death start. Keep in mind both these ships were meant to take on the borg, a threat far more scary than the death star!

This thread is hillarious...
The Defiant would simply smash anything made in Star Wars. Regardless of who was captain.
I think it could literally just fly through and ram/destroy any empire fighters.

The Soverign has four torpedo launchers, the Galaxy has three. And as of 2372, both have Quantum.
The Soverign has a shield strength of 7.4, the Galaxy has a strength of 7.0.
There really isn't much offensive difference there, especially when you take into account that the chances of either ship using more than one or two torpedo launchers simultaneously is pretty much zero, thus negating the Soverign's advantage.
The torpedo launcher advantage would only play in the Soverign's favor in a battle vs multiple ships simultaneously. In a one-on-one it wouldn't count for crap.
Though we do agree that Star Wars ships suck.

Ya, and I'm the one that has seen every Star Wars, BSG and Star Trek ever made.
Anywho, the real question is BSG vs. Star Destroyer. That is a bit more of an even fight. The SD has TIE fighters and BSG has Vipers.
The SD has shields but Stormtroppers can't aim for ****.

Neither can the Cylons, oddly enough. Superior numbers, technology, speed, reflexes and so on should normally make things one sided, no?

Na the cylons are pretty good. THey have off'd quite a few people on the show plus they do other sneaky things.
Stormtroopers never hit anything, they just enter a battle with lasers blasting all around you, like in G.I. Joe.

Did you purposely post Jolene Blalock because of the Star Trek connection?

BSG has nukes, which, for all of their wonderful technology, the Empire has kind of passed over I guess. Couple of those can ruin your whole day.
