Television producer Aaron Spelling, the man behind some of US TV's most famous shows, has died at the age of 83.
Spelling's hits included Charlie's Angels, Dynasty and Starsky and Hutch, as well as Beverly Hills 90210.
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

83? How old is his daughter?

That's sad... He obviously had a finger on the pulse of what people wanted to see to make it in that field for so many years. He was an icon.

I didn't know there was a timeline of appropriateness regarding the age you should and shouldn't have children.

For woman, yes there is for sure.

For men? It is probably best if you don't have kids at such a late age that you are an invalid before they grow up.

My friends dad was really old when we were kids. He could never do much with his kid because he was too damn old so the poor younger mother had to handle most of it.

His daughter was 32 when he died... I know plenty of people who have parents that die at that age. He was a VERY active older person.

I guess I don't put much stock in a person's age. There are young parents that aren't active with their children.

I'm not going to judge someone on their age alone.

The father of an ex-husband of a friend of mine... (3 degrees?) fathered a child with a 33yr old when he was 80.

The child is about 8 now, and unfortunately the father passed away a couple years back.

Having a kid when you're 80 is just like having a child and abandoning the family. That's just irresponsible on every level, and I can imagine that it wasn't his intent. I also can't imagine how a 33 year old could...do that...

There aught to be a law. Marriage is strictly for the purpose of raising kids. There should be a marriage amendment in the constitution stating that:

"One man and One woman may only marry between the age of puberty and 30 years old, and may not have an age difference beyond ten years. Marriages shall be voided when the woman reaches Menopause, after which neither may marry again nor reproduce."

What the heck? My parents were married when they were 29/33, and waited some time before having me and some more time before having my sister. They might be on the old side, but that's far from abnormal.
