Hello guys
I purchased BF 1942 just few days ago (I know, I know it is a little late) and I absolutely love it. I downloaded Desert Combat and played it online. What an experience!
I'd really appreciate any tips from the experts in this game. How can I join a team? I found myself lost in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by allies and enemies, and I tried to stick to the "friends" but everybody seemed to care just about themselves, no team spirit. I'd also appreciate any tips for flying.

Can't help much with the team thing, thats just how it goes. Get better and maybe someone will recruit you. As far as flying, either get a joystick, or practice A LOT with your mouse (a joystick is easier & more fun).

DO NOT use a joystick with helicopters. It takes LOTS of practice with a mouse. A rollerball mouse works best, but a mouse is easier for helo's.

When you fly them for real, flying them in the game is easy.

You need a twistable joystick for the tail rotor pedals.

I've missed something, did you say BF 1942 is available for the mac!!!!!!???

Yes, BF 1942 is avaiable for Mac. Let's see when they release BF 2 for Mac. A friend of mine bought it (PC version) and he loves it. I also saw it at Best Buy, played it for a few minutes and it is awesome!

I got BF2 this past weekend, but had to put a video card in my PC yesterday to even play it.

They have re modeled the heli physics making them super easy to fly.

Man I love being in the door of a Blackhawk with the minigun!

I really like the Radeon X700pro card.

I still can't fly the helicopters in BF1942. I've tried with the keyboard, I can make it go up, down, left and right, but no forward. It's driving me crazy

I have a Logitech joystick that I fly it with and you have to set the stick up in the controls options.

You really must have a stick that twists for the tail rotor controls and a throttle for up and down.

I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, but I can't fly the heli with it, it starts spinning like crazy at the lightest movement of the joystick.
I got an advice to press the Up Arrow to pitch forward and then press the Down Arrow to stop pitching. I'll try that tonight.

You might have the joystick set up too sensitive in the computer control panel.

I have the same joystick. The tailrotor should be on the twist axis and roll should be on the roll axis.

You absolutely can't fly the heli without precise throttle/cyclic/tailrotor control.

Ditto BF2 is great isn't it

Good to see Aspyr still supporting BF1942 on Mac. I've started playing DC Final again on my PB and it's still as fun as I remember.
