The Deep Impact spacecraft will impact a comet a few minutes after 1 am Eastern Daylight Time, July 4, 2005 (just under an hour from this post being written). If you're interested in seeing images of the encounter, go to

For 300 Million it had better be in HD.
NASA better not blow this one... wait, they had better blow this one and get it on film this time.

The last mission they sent to photograph that Asteroid was all blurry, and they passed the Asteroid on the wrong side, so in the process of turning the satelite around, they didn't have time to set the camera right or some BS... I don't trust NASA. It's like owning a boat... it's a hole in the water that you pour money into.

Click the link to "Complete Mission Coverage" - there are some already completed, and will probably be more after the impact.

Being so far away, I doubt the bandwidth will be better than a Netzero dialup

Any reason why this existing thread wouldn't do?

Anyway, it's very exciting.
