Does anyone knows will Railroad Tycoon 3 be released on Mac anytime soon?
Railroad Tycoon 2 was a great game on a Mac, and I want to know do I really have to buy a PC (or VirtualPC) to taste the next revision...

it would be a nice addition to the current Mac games lineup ...
I liked RT2 a lot, and it is one of the 3 reasons I keep classic around (the others are colonization and Deus Ex )

How did you get Colonization to work in Classic? I tried it about a month ago on my iBook, but needed to boot into OS 9, since it insists on 256 colors I think.

With your iBook can you turn off "Recomened" resolutions and colors? With my CRT I can go as low as 256 just fine.
As for RT3 I really hope they bring it over, loved the first two and this looks like a nice upgrade.

I dunno, in Panther I just can put 256 Colors out of the box, on Jag I had to trn off the "Show Recommended" settings box.

I loved RRT2, and I hope the third one works too.

Waiting with bated breath; looking at the PC version, it seems like they've significantly upped the standards of the game with the 3D world bit. Just hope it doesn't detract from gameplay too much...

I'd agreed. I'm hopeful though, I really dug the original games.

I'm thinking we'll have to order it directly to get it, just about. It seems the retail outlets (Apple and otherwise) are slow in getting it.

I just got my copy from the local Apple Store last night.
If you liked RRT 2 I think you'll like RRT3 too. There aren't a whole lot of changes to the game, it seems like they took RRT2, improved the graphics and changed the layout/controls.

I like it
Better than Railroad Tycoon II. 3D does this game no end of good.

Got it this weekend, mightily impressed. I feel like I've gotten my money's worth once again (of course it helps that usually only the best PC games get ported )

I just purchased this for the first time. I'm very impressed. Great graphics, excellent intro, and easy controls to understand. The tutorial was nice too.

After playing more over the weekend, while the game is good (as it always has been), I must say I miss the 2D graphic engine. The overall landscape detail and feel in the new engine isn't the same as RRT2. To me it looks and feels rather "flat"; like railroads in the desert.
Overall the game is still fantastic from the simulation side of the house, I just miss the 2D graphic detail that seem to have gone missing in RRT3.
Maybe I'm just crazy. It just feels "less" detailed.

It is a 3d tradeoff that can only be remedied with a GForce 6800 or ATi 9800

Maybe I should turn my 9800 on then? Like software mode doesn't work in this game?!?!?
Just looked at some screen shots from RRT2, yup, there is a lot more to see on the screen then the boring drab in RRT3. Upclose RRT3 looks awesome, but when pulled back to the normal playing view I'm just not seeing the beauty I remember.
