Use a .rar extractor (check VersionTracker) and extract the .rar file, it should extract all the .r** files in the folder and create one xvid file. Then try VLC to play it, I believe.

Yep. The best RAR utility would be UnRarX, and then I would use Mplayer OS X (or VLC, I much rather MPlayer tho).

OK... I initially tried to unrar the rar but Stuffit (why am I not surprised) could not expand it....

So yeah, UnRarX all the way.

And MPlayer OSX (I really prefer it to the buggy VLC) auto quits on launch (10.3) any ideas why?

Looks like the project is stagant...

Make sure you've got the 3ivx codec installed. It's the only one I know of that supports XviD.

Note: The 3ivx codec is only for decoding Xvid/DivX/3ivx files in QuickTime-compatible applications; VLC and Mplayer OS X are their own solutions for these codecs.

It is more the other way around. MPlayer hasn't seen an update for far longer than VLC.

VLC 0.7.0 is very neat, stable and bug free. ??
