To steer the topic a little bit back to Salty, here is a quote from his "i'm gay" thread:

I'm not sure exactly which Christians would define this as "handling the situation in a Godly way." None that I know. Ever since Superchicken started posting here I wasn't happy with the image he gave Christians. He was rude, arrogant, and I saw no love in what he was saying. People called him on that, and he said that's now he talks to his friends and they don't care. So everyone here, please don't judge all Christians by the actions of a few. It's true that we're still sinners, we still do tons of stuff wrong, and a lot of us are worse than most. But like it's been said before, we've been forgiven and we're trying to become better people. Oh, and if you're ever wondering if someone's truly a Christian: it will be apparent by the fruit they bear and the love expressed in them. Please take that into consideration before you unrightly judge all of us.

What? The hard core Christians here are some of the craziest people I have ever encountered in my life? In fact every single Christian I know off the internet I have no problems with. I've dated them and I am friends with them.

Problem is you see the nuts/hypocrites on this board and you really have to wonder.

I also don't understand how Christians "are trying to become better people" only by telling others they are sinners. How about mind your own damn business.

If you all want to get together in Church and tell each other what is wrong with one another that's more than fine. The second one of you comes up to me and tells me what I should do with my life of you disagree with my lifestyle we have an issue.

The first time I saw him he started a thread and my only response was singing the theme.

i believe (what i remember and what i do) is you take your arm, bent at the elbow 90 degrees across your chest and say:

I'm lothar

and then bend your arm out away from you, still 90 degree at the eblow and say:

Of the Hill People.

Frankly I hate this name but it's taken me 5 years to get this many posts and I don't want to start over...but I think I might have to.

SWG: Going around telling everyone how bad there are does not make us better people. As I type, about 100 feet away from me outside this college library are two guys with signs talking about how Jesus rejects "homos, lesbos, porn freaks," and the list goes on and on using derogatory terms for any type of sin they could think of. Technically this isn't the religious/political forum so I'd rather keep the topic on Salty (yeah, no way that has or is going to happen) but keep in mind that if someone talks to you politely about their faith, feel free to politely discuss or decline to discuss. If someone comes with a message of hatred, be sure they're not following the same God I am. To be clear, I do believe Jesus loves everyone but there is judgement and punishment for sin. But yelling that at someone is not the best way to win them over.

Millenium can believe whatever he wants. I know what I know, and that's quite enough for me. And in my life, I am the judge of what is 'good' and 'bad', 'wrong' and 'right'.
Mill told you basically the SAME THING I told you. Your "knowing" is based on faith. Not fact.

No one here has told you this. But you feel the need to project your hatefulness onto Christianity.

If anyone here is a hypcrite SWG its you.

You preach tolerance, but do not practice it. You are one of worst offenders of hateful remarks in this forum.

You really are a piece of work. You wanna talk about how I'm such an awful Christian? How bout the fact that you're a perpetually bitchy jerk who I have yet to notice say anything nice about anyone! If I were such a loveless sham I certainly never would have held my position so long in the church. Nor would I have my YG kids expressing anger over the fact that I won't be there at YG to help them with the crap in their lives.
Seriously jackass, you ever been kicked out of a church that you devoted more hours than you can remember to? You ever had a close friend stab you in the back and suddenly start treating you as if you're worthless simply because you're different? And have you ever had two pastors you trusted start gossiping about you behind your back so that people don't realize what they did? Yah, didn't think so. If I call anyone a ****ing asshole, they deserve it.

You're right, actually. I am pretty- I'm, I'm pretty troubled and I'm, I'm pretty confused. But I. . .and I'm afraid. Really, really afraid. Really afraid. But I... I... I think you're the ****ing Antichrist.

No, I have not been kicked out of the church that I devote countless hours to because I agree with their doctrine. I've been involved in worship team and I'm currently working with our college freshman ministry.

I, too, have had problems with porn. The higher ups know this, but they also know that tons of guys do (including others in ministry, and the higher-ups themselves at some point, they're not afraid to admit it), but together we're working to free ourselves.

And I see a difference between being 'different' and 'Biblically wrong.' Plus no close friend will stab you in the back just because they found out something like that.

Could you provide evidence of my being a jerk (under lothar56, of course)? It's true I haven't always been at my best but I don't think I've been downright horrid to anyone.
Again, calling someone a ****ing asshole is not diplaying Christ's love or respect for your elders, no matter how much YOU think they deserve it.

It only makes sense that you were removed from a leadership position. If you were in a Democrat club and you found out your president was a Republican, would you not replace him? If you were in a Athiest/Agnostic club and your leader was a Theist, would he not get canned? In the same way, your lifestyle does not agree with the doctrine of the organization, so it would only make sense that you not be in leadership. I'm sure none of the previously mentioned organizations would have a problem with a person with conflicting views showing up, unless they became hostile, at which point I'm sure they would no longer be welcome. Had you respectufully submitted to their authority and stepped down, do you honestly think you would never be welcome in the church again?
Everyone must keep in mind we're only hearing Salty's side of the story. We know how good he is at keeping unbiased.

I can't claim to know what you're going through, but I do know what the Bible says about how to act.

This is hilarious. This must be the second or third thread I've seen recently with Christians telling each other off. Must be something in the air lately.

This whole "handle everything with Christ's love!" crap some of you spew is nothing but ill informed BS from people who know nothing about Christianity besides what they learned in some watered down paper bound Sunday School workbook.

The bible speaks of Jesus angrily chasing out merchants from the temple by throwing their tables over and literally throwing them out of it's doors. Love and kindness is NOT the way to handle everything as a Christian. Thats just some warped non resistant anabaptist doctrine.

Some times you need to stand your ground and there is nothing at all wrong with that.
