Have linked my vhs player to my JVC GR0DX100 dv camcorder via a scart to av input and then linked the camcorder to my D1.8 G5 via Firewire cable.
iMovie4 picks up the video fine, can see whats playing and hear also.
When i import though and come to play back in edit mode, there is no sound, just the video!
Where am i going wrong? Is just an old homemovie that has been on vhs for years, nothing commercial. Would have thought if it plays back fine, why can't it import?
Cheers or any help/guidance
Chris

It could be something stupid, like the "Video Play Through to Camera" checkbox in prefs is checked. Then it assumes that your camera and tv are plugged in, and it won't play the audio thru your mac. That happened to me once back in iMovie 2. I don't know about iMovie 4, though.
Good Luck.

Jeez i feel like an ass, somehow it seems the keyboard had muted the sound! Yet odd that it still played the original footage through with volume?!
