I am problem-free with this update. I used the combo updater.

I've noticed that wake from sleep with an external display seems a bit different than before. I use my MBP late 2008 in closed-clamshell mode, connected to a 20" Apple Cinema Display, an aluminum Apple keyboard, and a Mighty Mouse (not wireless).
What I've noticed is that upon waking, the CD backlight comes on (the screen is blank), then there's a slight delay, the display shows everything as it was before sleep, then it flashes blue (my background color) and refreshes, showing what I just saw. It's basically doing the same thing twice -- I guess it's being very sure to check to see whether a display was connected during sleep. There also wasn't the wakeup stage where the screen is dark but the backlight is obviously on.
This is only with the external display attached. With the internal display alone, wake from sleep actually seems somewhat faster than in 10.5.5.

Ok, so I pulled the plug for my secondary machine, a Mac mini. No problems.
I'll still wait a week or so for my main machine (iMac).

This happened pre-10.5.6 for me...

I encountered no problems downloading and installing on G5 iMac. I was interested in the Airport improvements. The problems I've having with losing connection with my server hasn't happened yet.

i'm getting really stuttery video performance on my mac pro x1900xt. when using the mouse wheel to smooth scroll down a page, it's not smooth at all. or when watching a youtube video or something, it stutters a lot. i don't get it. maybe it's a safari problem.

Has anybody else had iChat or Skype claim that there's no camera connected?
I noticed that when I boot my MBP in closed-lid mode the built-in iSight is not recognized by either of these programs even later on when there's no external screen, the lid is open, and the internal screen is on.
This problem was definitely not there before I upgraded to 10.5.6.

Off topic: This phrase made me think of a turn of the phrase "Who watches the Watchers?"

Hi Simon,
Under 10.5.6, Skype works with both my internal iSight and external iSight cameras. Are you talking about an internal iSight? If so, does iChat see it? If not, try resetting the SMC.

Yep. My MBP's internal iSight.

As I said, both iChat and Skype either see it or not. If I boot the MBP in closed-lid mode they refuse to recognize the iSight. If I reboot with the lid open, they both see it.
I already tried an SMC reset and that did not change the behavior. Which is why I'm wondering if it's some kind of bug that snuck in with 10.5.6.

Let me check that. While I'm checking, could you see whether you're observing the same wake-from-sleep behavior that I noted above?

I am not seeing this problem. I just rebooted my MBP (late 2008) in closed-lid mode. Both the external iSight and the built-in iSight are recognized BOTH when the lid is closed AND when the lid is open (with no external screen).

Thanks for checking.
Like adamfishercox I saw the wake from sleep behavior you mentioned prior to the 10.5.6 update already.

Upgraded my Intel MacMini 2.0GHz tonight using the combo update as I usually do. Quick and easy, rebooted twice as expected, but still have the dreaded 'ACL found but not expected. . ' when I repaired permissions after the upgrade. Only took about 30 minutes start to finish.
No issues that I've found so far.

Was there a reason to repair permissions? I haven't done so on either my iMac or my MBP, and they're both running along fine on 10.5.6. They do both seem "snappier©" by the way, though I haven't done any real tests to demonstrate this.

Spaces froze for the first time since I started using Leopard. Took 3ish minutes to correct itself. Froze = shows the spaces, click on one and then no more cursor control.

Installed on a G5 2.5 dual with 7 gigs of ram and about 2 TB of disc.
Installed on a G4 1.25 with 768 megs of ram and 80 gigs of disc.
So far so good but I've not benchmarked anything, perhaps this weekend.
Haven't had a lot of time to mess with it since the holidays are impending.

It works fine, but I miss being able to change the power settings in the menu bar. Now it takes you to preferences. Looks like somebody was not thinking there.
