Newegg.com - Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 - Retail

Best mouse ever. Fast, precise, light, feels good in the hand.

I swear by my Logitech MX518.

Razer makes some highly regarded gaming mice.

Edit: I forgot you said why. Here are some general things to look for in a mouse you want to game with:

-High dpi (dots per inch) -finer control over movement. Usually at least 1600 dpi for a gaming mouse.

-Light (or variable) weight - quicker movement

-Lots of buttons - programmed buttons on your mouse can be easier than key combinations

-Scroll wheel with "notches", not free spinning - makes for switching between weapons and the like easier

-Wired - if you get really serious you probably want a wired mouse to avoid any lag. Wired mice also usually weigh less.

Does the Logitc G5 work with Intel Macs? That mouse looks to be the one, but it only talks about Windows on the box.

I just bought a Logitech G5 and it rocks. Super fast and you can change the resolution on the fly via hardware- buttons on the mouse.

The side scroll does not work and neither does the side programmable button. Logitech Control Center does not recognize the mouse. But the standard buttons and scroll wheel work, and since the resolution control is hardware that works too.

I'm using it with my PowerBook G4 17" 1.5 GHz
Scooters are more fun than computers and only slightly more frustrating

Thanks, I am buying the G5. And I think the keyboard I am going with is the SlimType by Kensington.

Thanks for the input, people, I love this forum.

USB Overdrive is a better mouse driver than the Logitech software.
