I am working on a project where i created almost 1000 image files for a client and they have just informed me that they need the 6th character of a 20 character string to be capitalized. Short of manually capitalizing the 6th character, is there an app or process that will allow me to batch this? I have looked at NameMunger, A better finder rename, and name mangler and none of these will allow such a granular or specific change. Any ideas?

You should definitely be able to do it with Name Mangler using a regular expression. Is it always the same 20-character string? If not, is it always in the same position relative to the start or end of the filename, or relative to some other string that’s always there? If you can think of a rule for it in words, it can probably be done with an RE.
