The head of our computer lab already has it, and he offered to burn it to disc for me. I should have it by the end of the day.

But, I'm going to go see it tomorrow... there's still something special about seeing this type of film on the big, big screen.

The same sort of thing happens with just about every newly released movie.

The unfortunate part is that this is exactly what the MPAA says happens every time, with every movie. The BitTorrent users that are perpetuating the availability of this copy are playing into the MPAA's hands and discrediting legitimate peer-to-peer users.

I would LOVE to have someone identify who leaked the print in the first place, and have him spend some "quality time" in a federal facility with a very "friendly" roommate. The share/steal crowd wouldn't have anything to pass around if this individual hadn't provided it to start with.

And Collin, just because it happens to just about every new movie doesn't diminish the fact that the MPAA can use this high visibility film and its online presence to push for harsh limits on what we can do online. It's crazy to HELP them RESTRICT OUR FREEDOMS.

This is a work print. So it had to come from someone inside Hollywood, the very place that tries to shut down the torrent websites.

I may download it after I see it in the theater, but that is only until the DVD comes out, which I will buy.

I will never do that. Wouldn't want someone running off with my work without paying...
I'm gonna watch it in the theater, maybe more than once , and I'll get the DVD.

Funny thing last night when I went to check (@ 8:30pm) to see if I could get tickets for Sunday night or even Monday (thinking that it would be completely sold out). They hadn't sold out and in fact had more than a few seats left over! Not only that but they had plenty of seats for the 8:30pm Friday showing! Bought tickets for the entire family and are all set for tonight.

I wouldn't bother with this. It's incomplete, poor quality, and nothing like watching it on the big screen.
Over 100,000 Iraqis -dead. Over 200,000 Afganis - dead. and counting...
All dead based on lies fed to an uninformed public, to manipulate them into not seeing the true agenda. All dead in the name of protecting US interests. Not one single thing these hypocrites tells us is based on truth. Not one thing.

The free downloads doesn't seem to be hurting the movie business. So far its winning at the box office.

My friend is a huge Star Wars fan. He dowloaded the last one and watched it. He was so disappointed. This completely ruined the experience. Really, what;s the point of a low-quality, choppy piece of crap movie?

I can't believe people are complaining about the quality of a movie that you can download over bittorrent... which is illegal, according to some.

Dude, if the movie's owners didn't authorize Scotty McPirate to post the work print on some BitTorrent network, then it IS illegal. It IS stealing. There is NO DIFFERENCE between this and posting a scanned copy of a novel. Artists earn money by charging their audience to attend the performance. Whoever else is involved is irrelevant, whether it's the artists' agents or the MPAA.

I hope they find the b@stard that swiped the work copy and roast him over a very slow fire.

But I think KeriVit's point was that his friend spoiled the experience of viewing the film by downloading it, not that the quality was something he was disappointed in.
