My girlfriend was using my computer tonight and used MSN messenger that comes with my install of office. When you run MSN messenger on OS X, it creates a keychain in keychain access called Microsoft_Intermediate_Certificates. When you open keychain, it says that it is locked, but none of my passwords work. Excuse my language, but what the f***? Why does Microsoft create something on my computer that I don't want there, and then make it password protected with a password that is not mine?

I logged in as root, browsed to my home dir under keychain and deleted it, but when I log back into my account and open keychain, the keychain is still there. I can't delete it because of the password thing.

So can any UNIX gods or any smart people please tell me how the hell to get rid of this thing?

Thanks a ton!

While we don't have the passwords, I'd say it's just SSL/crypto certificates in there. Maybe someone with more time on their hands can figure out exactly what's in it.

Anyway, to delete it, just click on it in the keychains drawer, choose "Delete Keychain" from the File menu. When prompted, "Delete References & Files" and it's all gone.
