Since I began using my G4, at work, OS9 has been asking for around 30MB to run. I even responded to a post on this forum, saying that I had not seen the bug system requrements that others had. Well I didnt knock on wood, and now Im paying for it.

When I came in this morning and started using my usual apps, I was getting some memory messages. After checking, I found that I was using 50MB!! for the system.

Does anyone have any idea why the memory req would go up like that?

Right after I submited this post, I realized that I hadn't checked the Memory CP. Somehow, VM was turned off. (I wonder if the NT IS guys were trying to 'fix' my unbroken comuter)

Anyways, thats a big factor in advocating VM. 20MB differance! Wow, thats alot. Im running at 31 now. I left VM on because it was a default setting (set to 129-128 actual). But I will keep it on now that I see this differance.

On top of that, the apps need less memory. I guess this explains the error messages.
