I received the following from Norton Disk Doctor:

A major error was found in a file record in the Catalog B-tree.
Node 461, record 6
"Modified yesterday" has an incorrect extent starting block number. This file may be damaged and should be examined after fixing.
It said it fixed the problem, but repeated the same error and "fixed" explanation 6 times.

I tried throwing away the errant file, but I received an error -127 and it's still in the trash.

What can / should I do?

THanks! Your board is AWESOME!

you need DiskWarrior from Alsoft...
www.alsoft.com

and NO i do not work for them, matter of fact i have a LARGE bone to pick with them: they have never updated DiskExpress Pro, though they have promised they would... a year ago. oh well, i always get my satisfaction one way or another!! (it's not nice to cheat a customer, and i am not alone, there are quite a few folks who bought it shortly before Apple introduced HFS+ format and are steamed about DiskExpress Pro being incompatible with HFS+, STILL!!!!!)

it just so happens that these a******'s have the best damn utility... DiskWarrior.

i sincerely hope they choke on their money.

Ditto. DiskWarrior is an indispensable utility. No, I don't work for them either.
