System: DP 2.3 4.5 GB RAM, running 10.4.2, iChat AV 3.0.1, running behind a university firewall. Note that I get the same error from home using a PB and a Linksys router.

Every time I initiate a conference with a buddy, I get an error stating that the conference failed because I (ME) did not accept it. Same error if my buddy initiate the conference.

Called Apple and they sent me this http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93208. I tried to open up ports as suggested in the manual to no avail...

HELP ANYONE!!!

thanks

Is your buddy at a different site? If so, these changes need to be made on the university's firewall.

Right different site (I think you mean outside the university firewall).

How do you make "these changes to the university firewall"?

The short answer is you don't. I would suggest you contact your university's network department and ask them.

It sounds like your University is blocking the ports to use video conferencing.

Linksys gear is proven to not play nicely with the Mac. Which would explain your situation at home.
