Does anyone know if you can exchange a G3 500 ibook logic board with one from a G4 ibook of the same size ie 12"

it would be nice wouldn't it? But alas, no you cannot. The screw holes and placement of other mount points are very different.

I've had the same thought, 600 mhz g3 to a g4 anything. But after reviewing the service manuals of both i come to find out i would have to basically buy every part to make a g4 except the HDD.
