been using it about a month instead of limewire

haven't quite figured out how to get it to STOP old searches

i thought that choosing "empty search drawer" would do it

but each time i open the program anew, there it is, downloading the stuff i was looking for from day one!

i'm sure there's any easy answer; anyone care to enlighten me?

I don't have Acquisition on my computer anymore, but from what I remember, you just select the search and hit the delete key.

but it's still comin' back w/the searches from day one

Weird, I often delete the old searches with pressing the Backspace key and they never return. Maybe you should try and delete whatever preference file and cache for Acquisition you can find.

Try and stop the searches first by clicking the search icon in the search drawer. And then delete the searches.

Under Search in the Menu Bar, click 'clear search drawer'

yeh, but my prob has been that doing this DOESN'T clear the search drawer

When you click 'clear search drawer', do you get the window to confirm 'Remove all Queries'?

yes

but it's almost like the DL's are stored elsewhere, as well, w/the software, cuz they can be found clicking on the DL's little indicator (near the DL speed) in the lower left at times

oh well, i'll play w/it

yes

i'm not sure... but it seems like if i said clear the whole search drawer that should be the end of it, no? but 'taint

Yeah... clearing the search drawer should clear the searches in the drawer, but not the downloads in the main window. To get rid of the files that are downloading or queued to download, you have to select "Downloads" at the bottom of the drawer (or, select "Show Downloads" from the "View" menu, or hit the apple-3 key command), and then select and delete the files that are listed in the main window.

Otherwise, if searches that you deleted from the search drawer do keep showing up, you'll have to look for the Acquisition folder in "Application Support" folder in your user's Library folder, and delete that stuff in there.
