Gays don't choose to be gay.

But some of them do choose to be very gay.

Wow, the lounge is just like I left it

OK, so why this show is important is because frankly a gay superhero would have some fundamental differences from a straight superhero. Frankly I think most gay kids growing up identified with Superheroes to some degree because we had to hide who we were, so this just takes it to a further level.

Most superheroes have a back story that's designed to help them stand out from other super heroes. Don't you get sick of the same billionaire turned crime fighter (Batman, Iron Man, Green Arrow... who else?) Heroes nearly had a gay character but he kid's agent was worried the kid would get typecast.

Fact is having a male on male romance in a comic will be different than having a male on female or female on male romance. There's all kinds of places you can go with stories that involve the unique experience of growing up gay. Imagine the main character getting found out at school and having the football team beat him up and him having to take it because he wouldn't want to be also outed as a super hero for example?

I'll say.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

You know what annoys me? Sometimes there is something wrong with gay romance... like the fact that I'm still single. Next time you see a cute guy dating another guy instead of saying "Not that there's something wrong with that." You should instead say, "There's something horribly wrong with that, how did that guy fall for that one when Salty's still single! He's such a man catch!"

Actually two days ago I had a date with a gorgeous six foot three red head... sadly he opened his mouth and a sewing machine fell out... so we'll probably just end up being friends. I feel bad though because all along I'd been saying that all I wanted was someone smart, who I got along with who liked me... I didn't realize that I needed to also say must not be gayer than your average TV sitcom homo.

We go through three pages of serious discussions, the resident drama queen shows up and the thread goes right in the sh!tter. Stick to your blog, Salty.

Please page two had some idiot I've never heard of arguing that gays are bad because we can't help over populate the world like straight people. Frankly, why would I want to have kids, when there's tons of straight people that can birth em but not parent them properly! Odds are if I do parent that I'll simply adopt a teenager who nobody else wants cause he's too old and ****ed up for most people to want. Of course that's assuming I ever find someone who would wanna do that with me... sadly it seems gay dating is almost as difficult as attempting straight dating while gay. (Though now it's me turning down second dates...)

So you wouldn't consider adopting a girl then? Just a boy. A cute boy.

I confess if I picture myself with a kid it's more easily done with the mental image of a son... probably because my sister and my mom are both right nutty, and I'd like to be able to see my bathroom counter... not to mention in sociology we covered the fact that all things being equal a male child will do better with male parents and a female child will do better with a female parent. Besides I could teach him how to get girls to talk to him and be comfortable with them. I odds are he would be straight, so what girl doesn't wanna date a straight man raised by two gay men? He'd probably be perfect... especially if he was cute.

Thanks.

I only watched the whole three seasons a few months ago. Any given day around my house, you might hear several "Helloooo, brother"s, at least one "I'm a monsterrrrr!" and perhaps a "Whatever, robot."

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys talking about? I am guessing it is some tv show but I don't get the reference to brothers and robots. So, spill the beans. Thanks!

Just try to do the whistle-talk. It's not easy.

Arrested Development

The greatest show to have been prematurely cancelled ever.
