I need to rant about this. I am getting utterly frustrated with this continuous problem. Just about two years ago my g3 iBook was one of the models that suffered from a faulty logic board.. the screen goes out and I can hear the computer running but it's completely black. I sent it in, was fixed free of charge. Few months later, same thing. Few months after that, same thing. I wake up this morning and yes, once again, my screen is black and the computer is on. I want to scream! I called up Apple and complain and now I have to send it back. The man could not explain to me why it keeps happening and why it just doesn't need to be fixed one time. This is now the 4th time I am send back my g3 iBook because of the faulty logic board!

Ask for a replacement. It's part of Apple policy to replace it the 4th time. You'll get a brand new iBook G4

It took me five, but you need to talk toask for CUSTOMER RELATIONS. You won't get anywhere if you talk to anyone else. Regardless if they are a manager etc.

Also, be calm but Firm. Dissapointed. I need some help here, etc.

I had my wife call too. It helps to be female sometimes.

good luck

Well, I brought my ibook to the Apple Store just to see what they would say about the logic board and the guy was super nice. As of the 25th of October I will have a brand new g4 ibook in my hands!

Will it have been worth all the hassle?

Also, did you have to pay for shipping it to Apple?

I picked mine up my new one at the Apple store, and it was there 4 days before they said it would be. They were able to transfer all my data. Was it worth it? Hell yes, I got a new computer for free.
