Hello everyone!

My iBook 800 (less than 6 months old) will only charge the battery to 69%. I leave it pulling into the AC all day and all night and when I uuplug to go mobile I see that the battery is at 69%????

Any ideas on what I should do to get it back to a full 100% change?

Thanks

Use it until it's at 0% and let it shut down, and then charge it overnight to 100%. I'm just guessing if this doesn't work, I'm afraid you should start to get concerned.

Sounds like you have a bad AC adaptor. Faulty connection most likely. If it was the battery it'd charge up to "100" percent, but would drain much faster than normal.

I thought it was the AC adapter as well but I have two iBooks and I tried out the other adapter and it is still doing the light changing thing and not charging the battery!

I am stumped!!

The other thread didn't specify how to reset the power management unit. Here's the link to the Apple Knowledge base article

I am bit uncertain which threadh I was exactly thinking about, but it's all very interesting reading, especially if you are in trouble. Many bright suggestions on your issue.

I say just go into an authorized Apple dealer and get a replacement battery and/or ac adapter. The battery on my 11 month old ibook 700 was acting up so I got one replaced for free from apple.

With those simptoms, you'll get an new battery on the spot at the Apple Store (if they have one in stock). My was about at half capacity when I got it replaced by warrenty sunday.

I called Apple and they sent me a box to ship my iBook to them so hey can figure out whats going on. I am in Los Angles where there are 3 or 4 Apple stores...is it better just to go in there? Or should I just send my baby to Apple in the box???? I am not sure!
