Oh wow, great!!! There are scanner drivers for the CanoScan N670U, N676U, N1240U available. I just purchased the N1240U and it works BEAUTIFULLY! OmniPage Pro X works just fine and so does PHOTOSHOP 7!!!!

They laughed at my Mac, it had no CLI. They laughed at Linux, it had no GUI. I installed MacOS X, and shut them up.

Cool! I wonder if drivers for my N1200U are on the way??? I remember a year ago being peeved that I'd have to wait "weeks" for everything to get working with the new OS. Ha!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Can someone here please put me in the picture, so to speak.

Having just bought a N1240U, I have no problem running it under OS 9 on my 9-partition.

I have just installed the "CanoScan N1240U ScanGear CS-U v62 (Macintosh OS X) Beta Driver" (from the Canon site) on my X-partition, and am a little puzzled as to what I am supposed to do now. I mean in 9, I double click on PhotoStudio and off I go

Somebody, elsewhere in theses forums, mentioned that you can scan from within Photoshop. How does that work? I have P/S 6 but as that is not X savvy, it wouldn't make any difference, would it?

Thanks in advance.

Ah well, that clears that up. Thanks, step. You are not a member of the group, "Steps", are you by any chance?

Nifty little scanner, the 1240 BTW. It came bundled with Photoshop Elements, which is not bad at all. For 100 it's incredible value.

Interesting horror story at "As the Apple Turns" http://www.appleturns.com/

Look out for the heading: "True Tales Of G4 Terror! (3/29/02)"
