Launch CandyBar while online... it will download a tiny update to:
CandyBar.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/IconData.plist
Quit.
Relaunch.
Does it work now?

I can get the app icons to change, just the Finder and Trash wont work.
I emailed Candybar about my problem, I'll see what they say.
