maybe the question i should be asking is: what contact list style/theme is that? i always get these ugly blurry shadows when i switch on 'shadows'.

thanks.
Cheers,
Nick.

The wall pattern is available at http://k10k.net

To get contacts without a group I simply drag them outside the groups, I didn't use any special tricks just drag and drop.

k.. cool! got that trick... now how did you get the shadow to do that on your text? yours appears to go around the fonts on all sides. mine doesn't do that at all in the advance prefs. is there something else you have set i'm not seeing?

thanks for the input!
peace.

Nope, just checked a box, it is most likely my font, at least that's the only thing else different from the default settings besides background opacity, no border, etc.

Really like the mods you did with the theme and icons. As someone who enjoys metal themes, this is a great one. Any chance of you being able to make it available for download?

BTW, As a "newbie: to these forums, I must say how much info I've gleamed from all the posts. Thanks so much to all of you. I hope to post some pics of a couple of mods I've made over the holiday.

Theme: X-Metal mod with major window elements from ProLCD Blue and some resources from Executive
Icons: Mods of X-Metal icons by Hein as well as G5 System
Desktop Pic: Brushed Mod of Panther

Disclaimer: At this point in time, I leave the real art to the artists. I just mix a few things together like a "greatest hits" album. (Remember albums?)

Hope ya'll like it.

Okay... while I'm at it, here's my Desktop Mac, a dual 1Ghz QuickSilver.

http://idisk.mac.com/crooner/Public/screens/QS.jpg

Theme: Mod consisting of major window elements from Harlan Lewis' ProLCD Blue (modified and colorized) as well as resources from Max's Smooth Stripes. There are also a few modified resources from Androo's Auckwa theme, which was the catalyst behind my decision to make this modified theme in the first place.
I wanted to keep the blue-ish feel of the somewhat "Rat Pack" elements [C'mon.... I live in Vegas ] of the desktop and drive icons and I find the result a very comfortable theme to work on. It never gets in the way and is quite easy on the eyes.

Icons: Folder icons are from Hein (I know he got reamed, but I sure wish he would put that aside and start making icons again. Hell, I'd pay for his work). I modified his blue folders by adding a shadow as well as adjusted color saturation. I also created an open drop variant (something I wish more icon artists would include). As for the drive icons, the QuickSilver, Sinatra, Vegas and Rat Pack icons are mine (the drink is someone else's that I can't recall). (Easy to tell... they're not as good as the rest!)

Desktop and window background patterns: Chunky Mono and Block from PixelDecor. Tiling the pattern for Finder windows is achieved by this hint. (Amazing that no one has released a shareware utility that can set this.)

MOST IMPORTANT: That's my little Toy Fox Terrier, Bridget. Probably only other pet-parents can understand, but she's far more my child than a dog. The top photo is when she was six weeks old while the lower is a recent shot of this precocious little four year old giving her "Are you going to stop playing with the Mac and PLAY WITH ME?" look.

Hope you gang likes what ya sees.
