Hello I just purchased a Mac book Pro the High end 15 in model. Sometimes it will randomly make a crackling sound. Kind of like their are marbles(small marbles) or sand or like a mini fire cracker. It's happened like four times. The last time it happened I picked it up and tilted it two or three times and it keep making the noise then it stopped. The sound could also be described as if it's an electrical/soldering type noise.

What do you guys think it is? Also my super drive is real load. Everything else works fine but that concerns me.

Is it your HD read/write kinda sound? If you tilt it thenthe sudden motion sensor will park your drive making it stop spinning.... so if that makes the noise stop then you may have a loud drive.

There is the 'MBP whine' which could be another thing...

If you just bought it then you can just take it into the service centre and tell them the issues and they may give you an exchange. Is it a 7-10day period which you can do this? cant remember...

cheers,
rob.

At fisrt I thought it was the sudden motion senson too. The computer doesn't whine the noise is more like an electrical type noise, like the computer is about to short out.

I bought the computer used, new in the box. What should I do should I buy applecare or juat take it to the apple store and have them check it out first?
