I've noticed that whoever's house you go round to now you'll find a pile of magazines or a book or two in the toilet. Obviously the home owner is a toilet reader and is happy to make your short stay comfortable by providing reading matter for you. Strangely even a few years ago finding books or magazines in the toilet was pretty rare.
So do you take advantage of this quiet time to catch up on your reading and if you do, do you prefer a reader digest style light bite or are you getting through War and Peace in 5 minute bites.
Poll included.

I can't say I'm a consistent toilet reader, but a remember a time when I used to get home from work and grab my PowerBook and catch up on some forums in the can.
That's right, my PowerBook has been flagged.

When at work, I'd head to the toilet to fire off a few text messages.

I've become jaded towards work toilets. My sense of smell is too keen.

There isn't a whole lot of text to read on toilets, usually just "American Standard", and some instructions on the inner part.

Not a work, but at home I keep a book in the master bathroom for that purpose. It sometimes keeps me too long on the pot.

Yeah I hate when your reading away and you suddenly realise its been nearly ten minutes since there was any action, once you've realise that you have to get off or it's just embarrassing.

I thought this was the reason for making the iPhone? I use the laptop while I'm at home, but always figured the iPhone was for reading/surfing while on the can at work.

It hasn't happened to me in a long time, but I remember a few times where I stopped reading because my legs had fallen asleep. Pins and needles!

Actually reading does slow me down. It's a conscious sacrifice. Though I usually do it when I have a... larger deposit to make.

When I was young, I brought piles of comic books with me to the toilet so I could make the proper selection. These days I bring an S.I. or whatever junk novel I'm reading at the time. I don't bring any serious stuff to the Throne of Rohan.
It's important to note: once clean-up is to commence, all reading materials are laid aside and not picked up until I have made a trip to the sink.
Also...I have to take my shirt off to go. Yes...there is a Seinfeld reference, but I was already doing this at age 5.
I will now cease giving ridiculous amounts of disgusting details.

if it were a year ago, at this point of the thread someone would've posted a 1000x magnified pix of poo residual on these toilet books or mags.
what is the world coming to?!

Do you poop while standing up and bending at the waist? If not, why do you figure to be wiping vertically?

Good, you'll have something to wipe your arse with when you're done.
Yeah, I read in the can. In fact, I bought an entire series of books specifically for toilet time (Pullman's His Dark Materials).

Does reading/posting to the forums on an iPhone count as reading on the toilet?
Or are we limiting ourselves to only printed media, periodicals, porn, etc...?

I have three posters in my toilet, on one wall the kings and queens of England, on another the kings and queens of France, and behind the door a map of the wine growing regions of France with quite a bit of detail.
Always gets comments from people who visit and who use the loo. A few after dinner conversations have been started as well.
