Hi,

After I have typed a command into Terminal, Terminal then asks for my password.
But, when I try to enter my password, nothing shows up.
If I then press the Return key, Terminal then says:
Sorry, try again.
Password:

So, in System Preferences, I deleted my password.
Even then, with no password, Terminal will not accept no password.

Anyone have any suggestions about what I can do?

If the command begins with "sudo", the password it is asking for is an admin password, not that of a regular user.

For privacy reasons, it is normal that the password is not shown in the Terminal as you enter it.

If the command is not a "sudo" command, then it probably requires a root user account, which is disabled on macOS by default, for very good reasons.
In that case, the fact that you're asking this question would mean that under no circumstances should you be messing with that command yourself.

What exactly is it that you are trying to do?
