Weird thing is that Aphex Twin actually had his laptop stolen prior to the release of Drukqs. The plot thickens.

Actually that was his iPod. That he forgot on the plane.

And that's the only reason he decided to release drukqs. It was the thought of all his music being released on the internet soon anyway that irked him.

Sadly for us, that never happened.

Hey, I rented! BTW, if you're into the MST3K thing, Battlefield Earth is a great do-it-yerselfer.

Omar didn't freak me out that much, but I read this thread first.

The thread, on the other hand, left me with a side stitch that will take me all day to get rid of. Good work, everyone!

I watched that video last night.. this thread so properly sums up what I felt at that time. The Aphex Twin references RULE.. I fell off the barstool.

And for God's sake, someone please tell the director of the promo bits that while natural movements and gestures add to a presentation, staccato hand jabs while reading cue cards is just downright annoying.

Ive has done it, Phil always does it, Joswiak does it - *jab jab shake jab* *cupped hands indicating some sort of holistic something* *rotate like you are dialing knobs* *spread with palms outward for effect* Blah.

He looks like such a plank. Like 'Hey, if I do my hair this way and wear this jacket I'll look cool and people will like me.'

Kids trying to be punk these days, oh please. It's not about spikey hair.

I walked by Omar today! I was at Boston Logan Airport going down a set of escalators and who else was walking up the steps next to the escalator than Omar himself! At first I thought nah, it was just a different guy with the same hairstyle, but on closer inspection, it was him alright.

It's the only movie I know that's actually improved by being chopped up, riddled w/ commercials & hung out on the "Super-Station" to dry....

Anyone else noticed about a third of the way through this howler that the guy in the background appears to be using the as yet undocumented feature iPiss?
Strangely he's the only one NOT waving his hands & arms about like a dervish.
Perhaps this is the only function that has yet to be perfected as hands-free.

Brillo pads have soap built in, on the other hand Omar has cheese built in.

Hey guys, what a laugh!! This certainly is one of the worst adds I have ever seen from apple. Why did they choose this guy Omar, I don't know. He must have been a replacement or something, because not even apple would have so little taste to hire such an awful actor to promote their new operating system. I feel ashamed on behalf of apple...

I prefer waving his hands & arms around like a mute mime artist whose house is on fire.

I'll be back after I change my underwear, the Aphex stuff rocks.

Glad I got freaked out by seeing the video before reading this thread.
Nothing to see, move along.

But luckily for us, we got drukqs.

The 4x vinyl edition is beautiful.

i'm pretty sure that I have previously seen the great Omar as a tech reviewer of some kind on CNN, or something like that. Perhaps TechTV?

At any rate, that aphex twin cap was quite possibly the most LOL internet moment of my year, congrats on that one.
