quick question.

i recently replaced the keyboard at work with one of those thin mac keyboards. now i dont know where the print screen key went.

running windows xp.

I don't think there is one. You might have to remap your keyboard for a Print Screen.

assuming the key combination is control+print screen to get a screen capture, then f13 is not working as a replacement for the print screen button.



as for remapping... it does not look like that is an easy task.

giving up so quickly, eh? lol, remapping sounds like it might not be an easy task.

Here's WIndows remap utility:

Edit: Oops, that might not work for XP.

Edit: Just check Versiontracker.com and you'll find several remap utilities.

that page it links to is long gone, it sends you to "http://www.microsoft.com/windows/" lol, i almost out of frustration got a sharpie and wrote in the words print screen onto the "fn" button.

which by the way, what the he..... excuse me, what on earth does the fn key even do? oh nm... its the function key. well... thats a new one to me.

How about fn+F13?

Fn means function.

The fn key is used like a shift key, especially on laptops, to control (typically) hardware functions. So on my MBP, if I press F5, I increase the volume. If I press fn+F5, I get F5. You can switch this behavior in the preferences. I don't have one, but I think the small aluminum Apple keyboards work the same way.
