My gf just bought a Nikon 5600. She would like to upload pics directly from her camera to a blog (she's on a shared Windows computer with severe restrictions -- ie, she can't even see the desktop) An upload form in php allows her to browse the file system. Is it possible to have the camera show up as a removable device in My Computer? Is this a possibility if she buys a SD card reader?

I don't own this specific camera, but afaik, both methods have a high chance! my little sony, connected via usb, can be seen in the finder as a "unnamed volume". the other method, card reader, shows the same result: the memory stick will we a "volume" in the finder.

btw: just try, and card reader are verrry cheap

Let me add a third choice which is for you/her to buy a keychain usb flash drive ($20) and transfer the pictures the pictures to it. Then they are on a removable device and are completely portable. sam

Thank you k_munic and SVass. I think the best way for her to go is a reader.
