so i was wondering, if any of you could pick a celebrity to date who would it be and why? like me i would date johnny depp because he has a incredible personality, hes sweet, funny, shy, doesn't try to be perfect with words, and seems very friendly and down to earth plus he is ATTRACTIVE!!!!!!

Robert Downey, Jr.

He is the human embodiment of sex on a silver platter.

I also have an enormous amount of respect for him, given that he has recovered and succeeded so much after such terrible problems with substance abuse.

I mean, seriously, who doesn't want to sit on this face?!

I have an Olivia Wilde clause in my partnership agreement.

I'm not especially fussy so I have a long list, though you never know how your opinion of someone will change once you hear what they really think about things as opposed to what they say interviews.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

The only famous woman that consistently leaves me in sheer awe of her beauty is Scarlett Johansson.

Yes, she is quite a beauty, a unique face.

I am partial to Christy Turlington myself, but wouldn't mind Scarlett one bit.

Scarlett Johansson is kind of weird looking IMO.

I'm not sure which female celebrities are hot these days. I had a thing for Lauren Graham for awhile, but she's kinda old now.

Oh - Mariska Hargitay, ftw.

I'm assuming it's not only "banging", but would also include conversation and participation in activities together (aside from the aforementioned banging).

and, ScarJo? Sorry, I couldn't date anyone stupid enough to cheat-on and then leave Ryan Reynolds.

That's the thing.

I know the question is "date", but I'm getting a "boy I'd like to bang her" vibe from many answers.

Thats what I was trying to address with my first answer. There are plenty of celebrities I find attractive, but I have no idea if I have anything in common with any of them.

Scarlett and Ryan may be a good case in point. For all we know he couldn't step away from the mirror long enough to pay attention to her. Or maybe she's an evil slut. Who knows?

Emma Stone. Pretty, smart, funny, down to earth. And she's a good actress, not merely a good-looking one.

I'm going to go ahead and assume 'date' is a euphemism for 'bang'.

Idris Elba (potentially NSFW) could make me do very naughty things!

That said, he comes off as a very nice guy in interviews.

Do you mean Jude Law or Jennifer Lawrence?

RDJ is mad sexy, agreed. Now that he's sober he's presumably dateable, well, except for being married.

jude law also has a great magnetism beyond just his looks.

I'd like to sit down over a bottle of wine with Hellen Miren. I'd like to take Emma Stone out to dinner... And (now that she's over 21) Emma Watson, too.

The thing is, most of the people mentioned here are actors, including the two I mentioned.

While there are obviously going to be exceptions, actors aren't particularly interesting people. They pretend to be interesting people.

You say that, but they get to see a lot of the world, learn plenty of skills for their roles and hobnob with with other genuinely interesting people so I bet some of them have plenty of good stories to tell.

I know a few celebs, they've stayed in my home, and I can attest that they are generally much more engaging than the "average" person. However, they seem to have a lot more issues and hang-ups, as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if much of that is based on being a professional liar in an industry full of professional liars.

It messes with your trust, which can't help but affect your interpersonal relationships.

That's definitely true. Any celebrity level actor is going to have good war stories and gossip, but then it becomes a question of how good a storyteller they are.

Most of the actors I know who are good storytellers are also directors, or also something else.

Surely issues and hangups make people more interesting too? Maybe not so much if you're looking to date them.

In the UK you could have had her at 16.

Engaging because they're celebrities or because they have interesting things to say? (And not just interesting things to say about other celebrities).

You mean it's OK to think "that way" about sweet, innocent Jessica?

For me, the actual possibilities are so many that I have had some difficulty just narrowing things down to whom I'd be interested in speaking with at length. I'm completely on the same page with Morgan Freeman answering the question "why do we exist?" with "Helen Mirren." Tina Fay seems to be a "real person" who's used the entertainment world to have fun. I had mentioned Emma Watson shortly after having seen "The Percs of Being a Wallflower," because she was VERY good in that and showed a depth I haven't seen in young performers for some time.

The cure for "white girl butt" is "dance class." As a bonus, participants are able to move with rhythm and grace in normal daily activities.

(That's definitely a dancer hinie there.)
