I just purchased a Lacie cd-rw. Toast software could not find it after instalation on my G4. Lacie told me I needed to upgrade my firewire to 2.3.3 for it to work. Receievd upgrade from apple, and appeared to be "installed successfully". Still no recognition. Lacie tells me my firewire is not upgrading properly because I have never updated my mac since my purchase, firmware updating? HELP! All my other peripherals work fine on all my usb or firewire connections. I have an eexcellent digital darkroom workflow that I don't want to mess with, but I need to start archiving to cd. PLEASE HELP! tward

Try this: Remove FireWire Authoring Support, and USB Authoring Support extensions from your extensions folder. Restart.
