I need some advice I have to password protec my powerbook. I don't want to use Multiple Users for this, because I'm the only user of my PowerBook, howerver I do need to protect my data while I'm away from by PB.
Any suggestions?
I would preffer something that is not screensaver related..that can be overided by restarting the PB.
thanks

What exactly do you need it to do? Well couldnt you just get a screensaver program but also password protect on startup? Doesnt Mac os have something built-in in powerbooks to use passwords on startup?

Sorry to interrupt you're topic, but I just want to say that multiple users suck, it's one of the most buggy applications ever. Some time ago I had a friend who closed himself out of the computer, he forgot all the passwords he just entered (stupid, but it happened). I just had to start from a disk and delete all the preferences (I may have deleted some other stuff to, I can't remember anymore) of multiple users. So if you want to be safe, don't use the crap!

caifara, you make a good case FOR multiple users.
i use it to protect my pismo powerbook, works great.
set it up for one user, keep it simple!
works perfectly, there when i wake from sleep...

i WANT it to be hard to get thru...
that's the whole idea...
