I'll have to agree with ca$h on this one though. MacNN has gone down hill over the few years I've browsed the forums.

I've got $10 that says it's before 1/1/05.
I was tempted to start a poll about that.
But we all know it will be locked.

Although, technically, is Cah$h still a member if he basically resigned ?

He'll come back right after he plays Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

sorry to see you go ca$h, but I don't blame ya. I quit posting a while back because the forum is full of 16 year old pimpled nerds trying to boost their pathetic ego by putting someone else down.

macNN is a great source of information, but only if you have the patience to weed through all the adolescent arguing. I'm sick of the childish bickering you find so much of here.

Whatever you decide to do next, I hope goes well for ya. Have a nice life, internet guy!

You contradict yourself. First you are sorry to see him go, and then you give a perfect description of HIS behavior.

Are you confusing the Lounge with other forums ?

The sad truth about it is, it's usually not the 16 year olds that do this, but full grown adults that think this is still Jr High.

I think the other forums have gotten better but the lounge keeps getting lower.

Exactly. In fact, around the time that Tiger GM leaks to the public I expect I'll be able to recycle my "MacNN Python" sketch I introduced last year in this thread (scroll down about 3/4 of the way to see my post).

Well, the other forums are the reason for this site's existence - this is a site for discussing Mac-related things. The lounge is just an auxiliary forum to keep crap from clogging up the other forums.

Even in the past few months the PL lounge sucks. It's like talking to the wind.
I think the GUI forum is fine to me, even though the past couple months have been sorta boring. Let's hope SS2 gives it some energy.

Interesting- this is about the same time that I stopped comming here frequently. One can only ponder the cause and effect dynamics of the situation.

and for the record, 16year olds are not in junior high- they are in high school. 11-14 year olds are typically in junior high.

Where stupid people use big words like "paradigm" to sound smart?

I never really recall the lounge being particularly intelligent. At times it the overall IQ drops a bit but on average its always been reasonably lame.

hey now, at least it was an attempt at rational discourse. and no one actually used "paradigm" or marketing catchphrases... sheesh, "corn dogs and donuts" were discussed, what more could you ask for?
