Hey friends,

My macbook air is only about a month old now, but it has started to randomly click.

It almost sound like a bad hard drive, but it's not as erratic. Randomly, it clicks rapidly 8 times, and stops, The whole thing lasts only about 1-1.5 seconds, and I cannot consistently reproduce it. Seems to be completely random. I have never dropped the air. either - the unit is pretty babied. The machine runs fine during the clicking and the software is seemingly unaffected by this.

If may or may not be the hard drive - but if I take it over to apple, what is the best approach to "demo" this to them? I've run a disk utility scan and the drive verifies fine..

Anyone have anything similar happening on their air?

Backup now!! Any clicking is bad and usually indicates a dying drive even if Disk Utility says it is OK. Take it to Apple and get the drive replaced. You shouldn't have to demonstrate it.
