Hello

my HP laserjet 1300 does not print postscript doc under 10.3
I get page after page of symbols. I think that this means the computer cant give the printer the info that this is a .psd doc so it reverts to bitmat?

the HP driver for mac on their support page is v 1.1.1 I think.

can't download a 6 MB file by dial up know, but will be in a few days at a friends DSL

any ideas if Im on the write track?
sure would be nice if HP has a site that told you what's what with Mac OS 10.3, huh?

What version of Photoshop?
Anyway, in the print dialog box, there should be a selection for encoding, under Output. Select ASCII. If that's already selected, try binary, but I'm pretty sure it should be ASCII.

the software is

Photoshop elements 2.0 running under X

it worked fine in 10.2.8

I don't see a 'print dialog' box
in the program prefereces there is nothing i see on printing

on using the Print command, the usual string of choices come up: layout, color etc this are Apples I believe

any more imput? prints every other file OK:

from Work, from Preview, etc
just seems NOT psd's

In the print dialog box (the window that opens when you select Print with Preview), there should be a checkbox at the bottom for Show More Options. At least, that's the way Photoshop is. If you click this you will see either Output or Color Management. Under Output is the Encoding preference I mentioned. Set this to ASCII.

Cool. That one dogged me for a while too, once upon a time.
