Little triangles missing in finder

This is a nuisance I see every few years. Now on my desktop icloud drive: The little tiny triangles on left of folder names are missing/ gone ( they expand to the subfolders). Thanks.

Are they invisible or actually gone? Click where they should be, see if the folder opens.

I've seen rare rendering issues in the Finder, where a file or folder name becomes printed in white. If you select, it becomes visible against the colored background. Haven't spotted a pattern to it. I haven't seen your white disclosure triangles either.
